Rockwell Group believes that combining interactive technology, handcrafted artifacts, custom fixtures, and furniture to create settings that seamlessly blend technology, craftsmanship, and design is a winning mix.
Rockwell Group‘s successful design approach relies on creating a unique and individual narrative concept for each project. The story influences and drives the design from the grand picture to the tiniest detail.
1- Designer Visions for House Beautiful
In this restoration of a TriBeCa apartment for House Beautiful’s 2012 Designer Visions, design is storytelling. David Rockwell transformed a loft into an eclectic environment that embodies and embraces House Beautiful’s singular style for this designer showhouse.
2- Station House
The Station House is a luxury rental house in the Atlas District of northeast Washington, D.C. The Fisher Brothers’ 11-story, LEED-certified skyscraper is full of contemporary amenities, complementing the busy restaurant, shop, and gallery scene of the surrounding area, according to interior design by Rockwell Group.
3- Yardbird Dallas
Rockwell Group incorporated contemporary industrial accents into the Yardbird restaurant in Dallas, with nods to year-round picnic places, lush indoor/outdoor dining, and the collaborative aspects of American porch culture. The main bar and lounge is a contemporary take on the classic speakeasy, with a spatial strategy that funnels the bar’s energy into a variety of open-plan dining areas.
4- Fairmont Royal York
The Fairmont Royal York (previously the Royal York) is a historic Toronto hotel that first opened its doors in 1929. The lobby and amenities have been redesigned to reflect a journey from the city’s past to the present, embracing and displaying the building’s rich patina while also adding a contemporary dimension. Given the hotel’s proximity to Toronto’s Union Station, Rockwell Group drew inspiration from the aesthetics of rail travel in terms of material, form, and detail. Work and relaxation spaces, brunches and fancy meals, and celebratory occasions are all readily transitioned.
