The Madrid studio of Gonzalo Machado and Mafalda Muñoz handles homes for the most fashionable clients. Shortly after launching their Madrid-based interior design company landed a plum job. Casa Muñoz was commissioned by Spanish supermodel Eugenia Silva to decorate her new apartment: a 3,800-square-foot space in a 1950s building overlooking the city’s Parque del Oeste. The result is decor marked by a neutral palette, strong architectural lines and an intriguing mix of furnishings.

A 1930’s Rationalist House in Madrid

Rafael Bergamin was a Spanish architect, who after a trip to Austria, was inspired by Adolf Loos modern architectural statement. He planned “El Viso” in the late ’20s and erased any ornament and accessory. This is the start point of this project of Casa Muñoz, take it back to its essence and simplicity.

Casa Gstaad

Casa Muñoz did an interior design, furniture and antique showroom in the town of Gstaad in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the winter of 2020. Taking advantage of centuries-old traditions, the Casa Gstaad showroom has the spirit of the mountains with a contemporary point of view.

In this fantastic building from 1956 designed by Cano Lasso overviewing the Botanical Garden of Madrid, the interior of this apartment turns into a new dimension of open space for an open family. Facing interior life to the views, the common space is deliberate to be shared for any activity such as cooking, living, dining or dancing.

The aim of this project of Casa Muñoz was to respect the building’s rather posh 1960s architectural soul while inserting the client’s sensibility and the realities of 21st-century families living into the way the space functions.
