Hubert Zandberg Interiors is an architectural and interior design practice, located in the creative hub of the Portobello Dock, with a focus on luxury residential and commercial projects both internationally and within the UK. The company was founded by Hubert Zandberg in 2002, and now comprises 12 highly creative designers and architects with a wealth of experience. In this article, we will talk about the upholstery choices for luxury projects from Hubert Zandberg Interiors!
Hubert Zandberg Interiors designs are non-formulaic, using the knowledge and experience of their design team and its ability to combine location with aspiration, unique design style reflects each client’s individual requirements and personal aesthetic. It is a testament to the company that the majority of its current projects are generated by returning clients.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors
Hubert’s passion for collecting and combining objects has always been a strong influence on informing his personal style. Investigating the relationship between objects, and pushing the envelope of design, Hubert’s personal spaces serve as laboratories where experiments in juxtaposition are performed. Highly personal, functionality plays second fiddle to the aesthetics, and these experiments form the cornerstone on which Hubert Zandberg Interiors builds new schemes for clients, in an albeit more pared down and liveable interpretation of his own imaginative designs. The studio creates well-balanced, sophisticated, contemporary interiors, with classic influences and eclectic additions.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – 3 Bed Apartment
Located in one of London’s most prestigious locations, this three-bedroom show apartment epitomises refined elegance and serene living. Working with the existing base build executed by the long-standing developer client, Hubert Zandberg Interiors dressed the 1300sqft open-plan space in a predominantly pastel palette with darker tones introduced through artwork and accessories. Whilst adhering to the commercially motivated budget requirements for the rental market, Hubert Zandberg Interiors created an effortlessly sophisticated and relaxed environment with a variety of sumptuous textures and soft romantic elements. After all, why should commercial projects not be on trend with a richly layered and eclectic atmosphere?
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Holiday Villa
A re-vamp of a project we first did years ago for one of our longstanding clients and friend, urban jewellery designer Diane Kordas. The villa is now the perfect setting for home entertaining with its touches of glamour from the 60s and 70s creating a luxurious feel, but still in keeping with the client’s desire for a clean, contemporary, casualness – a retreat of barefoot luxury.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Grand Apartment
This three-bedroom, the two-story residence is located in a historic apartment block near Royal Albert Hall. The project included enhancing and reinstalling historic architectural details, redesign the kitchen and bathrooms, and a fresh take on the interiors in a broadly classic French style.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Duplex Apartment
A complete redesign of double-storey office space into a sophisticated, layered, contemporary apartment for a young jewellery designer.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Townhouse
This two-bedroom Chelsea apartment was renovated and interior designed to offer Hubert Zandberg Interiors out-of-town client a playful take on his own private gentleman’s club for short stays and meetings.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Grand House
Rebuilt in the 1920s, this 7000 sf Georgian family townhouse occupies the corner of a tree-lined street in the heart of London. Working closely with the clients, both in the property business, a broadly 1940s French aesthetic was chosen. To modernize the space, the scale of architectural details, from key doorways to architraves and skirting boards were reinvented. Intelligent wireless, technical and audiovisual services were discreetly placed within the architectural element. The aim was to find a harmonious balance between found and bespoke, high end and every day, to offer Hubert Zandberg Interiors clients a “collected” look, that is both culturally informed and beautifully tailored.
Located in West London, Little Venice, this four-storey family home required architectural changes to the ground floor and basement, incorporating a new staircase. The reconfiguration had to allow for more casual living for a family with teenagers and a dog. The interiors were designed to complement a significant collection of archaeological and pre-Islamic artefacts and contemporary art.
Located on Portobello Road in the heart of London’s Notting Hill, Hubert Zandberg Interiors were commissioned to create a functional home for a young family which required a complete renovation and redesign of the property. Carefully considered spatial planning was essential in order to ensure the home embodied a sense of openness and flow whilst maximising the practical use of the space. Hubert Zandberg Interiors stripped back the property entirely to allow for the new and improved layout to accommodate the family of 5 and a guest bedroom. Additionally, a new bespoke kitchen, bathrooms, custom-made joinery and architectural features were incorporated. An eclectic aesthetic approach was employed to refer to the cultural melting pot that is Golborne & Portobello Road whilst also encapsulating the client’s strong sense of style and unique taste. Incorporating a mix of the homeowner’s art collection & decorative objects sourced by Hubert Zandberg Interiors from the Notting Hill markets, resulting in a space that captures the feeling of stepping off the street and into a home’s interior that reflects the colourful world outside.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Tuscan Villa
An exclusive Tuscan villa and estate located in the dramatic hilly countryside outside Siena, a second home for one of Hubert Zandberg Interiors returning clients. The design concept was to create a comfortable retreat that references the centuries-old rich history of the area and at the same time incorporates these with a curated mix of both vintage and contemporary elements and found pieces, for contemporary living.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Holland Park Townhouse
Hubert Zandberg Interiors creative industry clients had clear ideas, resulting in a constructive dynamic where the designer and the clients pushed each other to new heights. The result, a feast of colour, texture and styles in this effortlessly glamorous and serene family home.
Hubert Zandberg Interiors – Loft Apartment
